CREE 100 - Major Assignment + Lesson Plan
Tànisi, nitsiyihkāson Haley. Ohci niya oskana-ka-àsastèki.
(Hello, my name is Haley. I am from Regina).
I am currently enrolled in Cree 100 because as an elementary education student I am required to take a language course. For our final Cree assignment, we are asked to present a lesson plan in Cree. My partner and I both thought we would design a lesson targeted for beginner Cree speakers. We used material learned this semester to create this lesson. The lesson requires the learner to know their verbs, nouns, VTA and VAI sentence formatting. Due to my partner and I being in our first year, we used our resources and what we have been taught thus far to create this hour long lesson plan assignment.

Taking Cree as a language for my education degree is important to me. Language is a part of living. I think living in Saskatchewan and being a future teacher, it is important to try to incorporate culture and language as much as you can. Throughout both articles, there is valuable information shared that all teacher's should consider reading.
